It's been 110 years since most African countries adopted the prussian system of education, Well, if we look at history we'll see that our parents and their parents ;mostly those of them that followed the white men more closely and their education are the the ones we can refer to as successful men and women in our society today. For those of them that chosed not to follow after the white man education system we today see them as the third class citizens because they couldn't be absorbed into the mechanism that was created for it ( BUREAUCRATIC ADMINISTRATIVE MACHINE) They are termed uneducated.
The good news is that this system (PRUSSIAN EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM) served the Bureaucratic Administrative machine excellently and this is evident in the status and class of our parents and their parents that passed through the system.
Now the bad news is that this system is what we are still working with globally for a machine which no longer exists.
For this reason we hear words like income inequality, Recession, Unemployment and the likes of them more often than we hear our names and better things.
All am saying is that we are too busy working with same old system for a machine which no longer exist. And that's the reason we are where we are today.
The one question that will determine our individual and collective success in the 21st century is EDUCATION FOR WHAT? AND EDUCATION FOR WHOM ?
